If you have just started your own practice, it can be difficult to get new patients. You may want to try befriending dentists who do not offer orthodontic care in town. Try meeting up with them in conventions and seminars and going out to dinner every now and then. These dentists will be more than happy to refer you to their patients.

Taking Interest in Patients

The best way to keep a patient comfortable and happy is by breaking the orthodontist-patient relationship and changing it to a more casual and friendly one. Talk to a patient about their hobbies, their opinions on the local sports teams, and other topics to help them relax. Always remember that a happy patient will be more than willing to refer family and friends to you.

Social Media

Take advantage of the Internet; create social media accounts for your practice and ask your patients to follow your practice on Facebook and Twitter. Use these social sites to upload pictures of your patients or to announce promos such as a free dental checkup for existing and new patients.
